Shelter for Abused Women & Children, Elder Abuse Response
The Shelter's Elder Abuse Response (EAR) program has grown from serving a dozen elderly victims in early 2006, to assisting thousands of elders in Collier County Florida through the emergency shelter, counseling and community education efforts.
The Shelter's E.A.R. Advocate will advocate for elderly victims to ensure their safety and to form relationships and work closely with exhibiting agencies who provide direct services to elders. This will enhance the safety of victims and educate elders within the community on how to identify abuse. Seniors will receive information about what to do and where to receive help; also elders will be recruited and trained as volunteers to identify victims and relay vital information to them.
