The grant of $300,000 will support scholarships for students in the new New York University, College of Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). These students are pursuing careers as Geriatric Nurse Practitioner leaders focusing on promoting quality clinical care for older adults
The College of Nursing’s Doctor of Nursing Practice program is a professional practice doctorate comparable to practice doctorates of other health professions such as medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and physical therapy. The DNP will enable advanced practice nurses to assume clinical leadership positions in health care organizations and become clinical faculty in advanced nursing education programs.
